For richer or poorer

Whether it is paying for perfect genetic makeup or anything else in this world, the truth is the wealthy will get what they want and the rest of us make do.

Wealth cannot be shared among the 7 billion people in this world, so we are subjected to classes. First class live in luxury, second class make do with what they have, and the poor live simply. If the ability to develop a human race that had genetic perfection came into this world, only one third of the 7 billion people would be able to afford it, the first class, maybe the second class if they are lucky, making the three classes even more different than what they are now.

why subject the lesser class citizens to feel even more lower by introducing perfect genetic makeup. We're all fine the way we are, we're all the way we are for a reason. Having our genetics altered would be like getting a pair of fake boobs, we wouldn't be how we were supposed to be!

Good luck to the rich, but money doesn't by you happiness.

- Regards from a second class citizen.

If we have fresh water, secondary education and bank account, you are in the top ten percent, in terms of quality of life, of the world's 6 billion people.
So, how do we regard this? Should we challenge the notion of not being able to share resources or look to greater domination of the environment by controlling our genetic make up as well as the environment?
That sounds pretty straight forward until it affects our future and especially our children's future. I don't mind others having more as long as I don't have to have less.
Two questions - Should every possibility in reproductive technology be available on the basis of user pays? This would include genetic engineering but what about current technologies like in vitro fertilisation and antenatal screening for gender and disease.
Is it really the case that money can't buy happiness? It would seem that an absence of money can cause sadness.
